Type Rupee Symbol using Keyboard

As Rupee got a symbol, Microsoft added Rupee symbol font to the windows update. Once the drivers for Rupee symbol is installed, it can be used in MS Office applications such as MS Excel, MS Word, MS Power point or any Windows application. Rupee Symbol can be typed using the keyboard, even if it is not printed in the keyboard. The Rupee symbol can be typed in Dell Keyboards, Logitech Keyboards or any keyboards.
Below is the step to Download and Install the Rupee Symbol:
  • Download the free Rupee symbol driver update from Microsoft Driver update Page from Here.
  • Select the the version of your operating system such as Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 and the 32bit version or 64 bit version.
  • Install the update and restart the PC
  • Go to Control panel. 
  • Select Clock, Language, and Region, and then click Change keyboards or other input methods
  • On the Region and Language screen, click Change keyboard on the Keyboards and Languages tab
  • On the Text Services and Input Languages screen, click Add
  • On the Add Input Language screen select English (India), and then select the India keyboard check box
  • Restart the system to use the Rupee symbol
  • Keyboard shortcut to use Rupee symbol is Ctrl+Shift+4($) or Ctrl+Alt+4($). This will type rupee Symbol ₹.
Note: Some times the Keyboard changes to other than Keyboard India. To set back Keyboard India go to keyboard symbol in the right bottom screen and set the desired keyboard. 
Once the Rupee symbol got installed, In MS excel, currency format shows the Rupee symbol so that you can use Rupee symbol in Excel for Currency calculations.
