Sony Xperia S is the first Sony's flagship ship smartphone in its Xperia range at least until the mobile maker launch 4G Xperia Ion. The new Xperia S comes with a sleek design with a large display which provides very high screen resolution. It has 4.3 inch HD 1280*720 pixel capacitive touch screen.  The display provides gloriously vibrant touch screen experience with a very high level of details. The pixel density is at 342 pixels per inch which sharper than the 330 ppi on the iPhone 4S retina display.  Infact it is the highest ppi of any smartphone released so far.
The Sony Xperia S is powered by 1.5 GHz dual core Qualcomm snapdragon MSM8260 processor which provides faster performance to the smartphone. It also comes with NFC( Near Field Communication) built in. Overall this smartphone is faster than Galaxy S2. Xperia S sports 12MP rear camera. According to Sony, it will be possible to take photos in just 1.5 seconds from standby and doubles as a full HD 1080p video recorder. The camera uses Sony's Exmor R image sensor which offers higher sensitivity and less image noise on low light.
The Sony Xperia S comes loaded with  Android Gingerbread OS. However Sony is expected to release Android ICS update shortly. Battery: Samsung Galaxy S2 is powered by 1650mAh battery and One X has 1800 mAh battery. This is the tricky here. Even though HTC One X has bigger battery, battery life may not be as good as S2. This is because of its larger display screen and quad core processor.

Samsung Galaxy Note gets official ICS update

Ever since Google  launched latest Android OS called Android Ice Cream Sandwich(ICS), many users are awaiting for the official firmware upgrade to ICS from Gingerbread. On March 13th, Samsung started giving ICS update to its top Android smartphone models such as Galaxy S2, Galaxy S2 LTE, Galaxy Tab 8.9 and Galaxy Tab 10.1.  However on that day, Galaxy Note users got only bug fix refresh.
Now Samsung officially announced Android 4.0 ICS update to Galaxy Note with new platform and a premium Suite. The new Firmware update for galaxy note will be available worldwide from second quarter of 2012.
On the occasion of announcement Samsung team said that " the Ice Cream Sandwich update brings an entirely new look and feel to Android on Galaxy Note, with a more intuitive user interface that includes a redesigned App menu for easier multi-tasking.The software package includes extra multimedia features and a range of new S Pen optimized applications in addition to an OS upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.The upgrade also introduces innovations such as Face Unlock, Snapshot, Android Beam and others".

Low cost Android Tablets Launched

Two Indian companies, Intex and Zync launched low cost Android  OS running tablets. The Intex tablet is called as i-Tab and Zync tablet is named as Zync Z-990. Intex Technologies i-Tab comes bundled with 3G card and inbuilt LAN adapter.  The i-Tab has 8 inch capacitive touch screen, inbuilt WiFi  and GPS software supported by Google maps, internal memory of 8GB which expandable upto 32GB through microSD.  The battery back up will be around 5-6 hours. The price of i-Tab is ₹11,900.
Zync tablet Zync Z-990 is the cheapest tablet available in the market which runs on Android Ice Cream Sandwich. This is the first Android ICS running tablet launched by Indian company.The Zync Z-990  has 7 inch high resolution display screen, 4GB internal memory, expandable memory upto 32GB through microSD.  The price of Zync Z-990 tablet is set at ₹8,990.  Zync Tablet is lighter than i-Tab at 380 grams and  has additional HDMI port which is not available on i-Tab.
