Windows Hacks

We all faced this. That is, even though we are using the systems for ourself and no one else is using the system but the every time you will get password prompts. This can be bypassed editing the registry entries.
Windows can be configured such away it automatically log in a user on starting.  For doing this just follow the steps mentioned below.

  • Login to the user account with administrator rights.
  • Go to registry editor. For this, Click on Start-->Run  and type 'regedit' and OK.
  • Navigate to the left side of the tool to the 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINES\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Currentversion\Winlogon' key.
  •  Now we need to  change some values on the right side for activating the automatic log-in. For this, double click the entry and enter the new configuration in the 'Edit string' dialog box under 'Value'. Subsequently, confirm this action with 'OK'. If one of the values described in the following do not exist, create it. Use the command 'Edit->New->String' for this and name it 'AutoAdminLogon'.
  • Double click the 'AutoAdminLogon' and change the value to '1' which basically turns on the automatic login. IF you wish to turn off this feature replace '1' with '0'
  •  Enter the name you wish to log in to, under 'DefaultUserName'. If it is not there create that. Enter your password under 'Defaultpassword', If this is not available create it.
Note: Activating automatic login will face security risk if some else is using your computer. As your user name and password are visible in registry this is not recommended if you are using public systems.

Windows 7 Ultimate reviews

Windows 7 is the new version of windows. After a Vista got very low responses from people Microsoft done many changes and improvements in the new operating system Windows 7.

I have tested the RC version of Windows 7 operating system in my old PC. With a hardware configuration of 1.6 GHz Intel Pentium 4 processor and 1Gb RAM, the operating system worked well. Applications starts fast and works smooth even without a WDDM Driver Support in my GPU.

Some of the Features of Windows 7 are:
  1. Desktop: Introducing improved task bar previews, bigger icons, pinning, and creative ways to personalize.
  2. Home Group: Takes the headache out of home networking, so it's easier to share files and printers.
  3. Jump Lists : Speedy access to your favorite pictures, songs, websites, and documents.
  4. Performance improvements: It's designed to sleep and resume quicker, be less memory hungry, and spot USB devices faster.
  5. Full 64-bit support: Windows 7 makes the most of powerful 64-bit PCs, the new desktop standard.
  6. Power management:New power-saving features are designed to help laptops run longer.
  7. Windows Touch: Pair Windows 7 with a touchscreen PC and you won't always need a keyboard or mouse.
  8. Easier wireless networking: Windows 7 gets you online in fewer clicks.
System Requirements:

  1. 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
  2. 1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
  3. 16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
  4. DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver
  5. Additional requirements to use certain features:
  6. Internet access (fees may apply)
  7. Depending on resolution, video playback may require additional memory and advanced graphics hardware.
  8. For some Windows Media Center functionality a TV tuner and additional hardware may be required
  9. Windows Touch and Tablet PCs require specific hardware
  10. Home Group requires a network and PCs running Windows 7
  11. DVD/CD authoring requires a compatible optical drive
  12. Bit Locker requires Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 1.2
  13. Bit Locker To Go requires a USB flash drive
  14. Windows XP Mode requires an additional 1 GB of RAM, an additional 15 GB of available hard disk space, and a processor capable of hardware vitalization with Intel VT or AMD-V turned on
  15. Music and sound require audio output
Product functionality and graphics may vary based on your system configuration. Some features may require advanced or additional hardware.

INTEL CORE 2 QUAD Q9550 Review

The Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 is marginally better performer than the AMD’s most powerful quad-core processor, the Phenom X4 955. Since both Core 2 Quad Q9550 and Phenom II X4 955 are priced almost the same, the Q9550 is any day a better choice. Only advantage in Phenom II X4 955 is that, it features an unlocked multiplier which makes over clocking a breeze. However, the Q9550 can be over clocked much higher i.e more than 1 GHz by increasing the FSB.
Clocked at 2.83 Ghz, the Q9550 is the second most powerful after the Q9650 in the Core 2 Quad family. Just like the other quad-core processors from the Core 2 family, it features two dual-core dies with 6 MB L2 cache each and supports Intel Virtualization technology. It is like two Core 2 Duo E8300 CPUs fused together in a single package.
The Q9550 has a good amount of oomph to handle demanding tasks, but it is too way too powerful for a gaming machine.
Pros: Great Performance, over clocks well.
Cons: Price.

INTEL CORE 2 QUAD Q8200 Review

The Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 is the most powerful processor for the price range below ten thousand. As this processor belongs to the 8xxx series, this entry level quad core processor is clocked at 2.33 Ghz and has a total of 4 MB l2 cache. Under its hood lie two dual core dies with 2 MB cache. Even though this is a entry level processor, its feature set doesnt include Intel's Virtualizastion technology which is present in Core 2 Duo E8xxx & E9xxx series onwards.
The sheer power of the Q8200 is quite evident by its respectible scores in CineBench R10 and video encoding. Its closest competitor in the roundup was the Phenom X4 9950 Black edition, which is on the verge of extinction. It is priced at 9500 Indian Rupees and it doesn't make any sense picking it up with the Core 2 Quad Q8200.

Pros: Core 2 Quad Q8200: Good value for money, excellent score for an entry level quad core.
Cons: No Intel Virtualization Technology.
